Premiere Credit Sucks

I am being harassed by Premiere Credit [Link] to collect a debt somebody with the same name owes. They have called me about 20 times and despite my numerous calls to get them to stop, they will not. They call in the morning and on the weekends and refuse to stop. Their website features sharks, they are proud of it. I think it should feature thugs and bullies because that is what they are. Premiere Credit Sucks big time, in my opinion!

We have been receiving repeated calls from Premiere Credit for our son's college loan. We have returned their calls, we have faxed them a copy of the original letter from the loan company stating the loan was PAID OFF IN FULL. Still Premier credit keeps calling and insisting this is an active bad debt. Today I have just encountered a "ruthless Shark" of Premiere's. Now, I will begin turning the tables to get this bad info and harrassment turned around. Anyone else out there with Premiere hunting you for an already paid in full debt? Let's hear from you. And, Mr. Milenko, Open your eyes.

I phoned the Federal Dept of Education, Post Claims Unit, 1-800-331-2314, and requested a letter from them be faxed to the Premiere Credit rep at Fx 317-869-0617. They agreed. Then I phoned the rep at Premiere to tell her to expect the fax this morning. The Federal Dept says they DO NOT EVEN USE PREMIERE CREDIT FOR THEIR COLLECTIONS, they use "Pacific Credit". (Is it possible that Pacific "sold" our old account to Premiere?) I will wait a few days for the paper to get entered into Premiere's computer system and then phone them again to confirm the fax and the computer notes. If I continue to get collection calls from Premiere, I will begin seeking restraining assistance against Premiere. I'll keep you posted.

I worked for PCNA that they are sharks. They do not follow the FDCPA at all. Todd Wolfe is the biggest dumb ass i have ever known. Here is the thing not only do the do they call 20 times a day but there are people there that signs names for the WDF program. Just same name incase anyone in california or the other states they collect in Crystal Renfro, JW Biddle are the two biggest federal law breakers in that company of course next to owner Told Wolfe and then you would have to pull this person out of Todd's ass to know him Tim Corey. My advise is to you people is to start a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT to bring Premiere Credit DOWN!!

Premiere Credit is unethical!!
They have called my mother and pumped her for information, and they have started calling me as well.. about my sister's defaulted student loan. Neither of us co-signed anything for her, nor were we ever "references" as the guy claims when he calls. He got really nasty and insulting with me on the phone the other day when I asked him why he was attempting to mislead me.
The debt in question has nothing to do with me or my mother or anyone else besides my sister.. and she has been trying to work out a payment plan with them for months. I am tired of having the whole family harassed by this unethical company! What can we do????

I am having problems with premiere credit also. They keep calling me about my defaulted student loan. My income tax refund was offset and my loan is paid in full now. Premiere credit continues to call me and says that I owe 150 dollars. i have something new you might want to hear about though. Premiere credit is some how tapping into my phone records and they are calling me from other peoples phone numbers. I received a call from my own cell phone the other day. When I answered the phone it was premiere credit. I think this sounds illegal. I called student loan and they said they would take care of it so I hope they dont call me again.

I know... Premiere thinks they are calling about Steve's Loan... not Steve Sloan. :-)

Anyway, my wife is being harassed by them as well. They are spoofing nearby caller ID numbers to get her to answer her phone while working.

I'm thinking telecommunications fraud, wire fraud, etc. are in order for these asshats.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I would definitely expect fraud is rampant at Premiere Credit, by their conduct.

In addition, telecommunications fraud seems likely. I picked up the phone, ID number of my mother, and it was Premiere Credit!

haha I just applied for a position at P.C.. The job is making sure that the company is in fact going after the right person... (and I'm pretty good at it... Hopefully it's not as bad as everyone makes them sound to be.... But has anyone ever really liked debt collectors?

I am an employer and was slapped two weeks ago with an order for Garnishment of Wages for one of my employees. You have to calculate the garnishment three different wages ("subtract line 6 from line 4, etc). Kinda reminds me of my tax form. Pain in the ass to do. Since she is an hourly employee, I have to do the form every week.

Then today, I got a phone call from someone identifying herself from the Dept of Education (caller ID was Premiere Credit.) She was rude, condescending, offered private information about the loan details and laughed at me. Boy am I pi$$ed. How dare she! She treated me as if I was the debtor. Instead, because of the law, I have become the collector. I don't have time...I work for a living. But if I don't collect, then I can be held legally liable for the uncollected amounts. AND, I cannot terminate the employee because it is against the law.

So, I am stuck with Premiere until this $60,000 loan is paid off...at $63 per week. Sucks to be me!

They called my daughters Cell Phone 3 times in last week (she's a minor). They stated I was listed as a Reference for a Kelly Gauthier. Don't know her and never heard of her. I've read enough about these folks to agree they are NO GOOD. And THEY ARE the same people in Indianapolis (or their PO Box anyway). I called the 866 (866-808-7118) number on their website and got a Live Person. Thinking maybe someone is impersonating a legit company, I asked some questions. She took my reference number and said they were having phone problems and to call the EXACT 877 number (877-277-2849) Left on the three messages.

The three messages were left as follows...
from 932-452-9112 from a Ms. Betty Brown at Extension 11284 w/my reference number. This number has been confirmed through all sources to be a bogus number with a bogus Area Code (932 doesn't exist). How it's used, I don't know. But no legit company should be using a bogus number to make contact. I attempted to call that number w/no information.

from 603-956-2229 from a Mr. Orlando Barnes at Extension 11364 w/my reference number. This number does have a legit area code (603 is New Hampshire), but no information on 956-2229 which is a disconnected number. Again, an illegitimate number.

from 603-985-2014 again from Betty Brown at Extension 11284 w/my reference number. Another legit area code, but a disconnected Illegitimate number again.

I called and spoke with Betty Brown who stated I was listed as a reference for a Kelly Gauthier. I refused to give my name and then she told me she was trying to reach Kelly Gauthier specifically at my number. She agreed to remove the number from the database. We'll see if that happens.

For those of you that spout about the folks here that should just pay their bills, "Grow Up". This isn't the first time a "legit" credit company tried to collect information and/or money erroneously. I currently have one auto loan that's been paid ahead of schedule since May and THAT'S IT! No other debt what-so-ever. And the phone number they called me on has never been listed on anything I deal with. Everything about my interaction with these folks raises red flags.

I received a call from these scum sucking bottom dwellers twice. A messageon my cell and once at my parents. They pumped my mother for information and wanted personal references, wanted to confirm my employment, etc. Needless to say I called them immediately. Now get this 'yall. They had my name, my father's name tied to a "utility bill", with my address. They were looking for someone who skipped out on a bill from 1996 and attended college in Ohio. I've never been to Ohio. Then, to top it off like a good beer, they had the last four digits of a SSN of some man. Oh now this makes a lot of sense. They can't get the SSN and the gender of the person they're looking for right. The guy, J. Wise, and basically got into a sceaming match and hopefully I won. I'm not an attorney but have had 15years as a paralegal and my understanding is there is a Statute of Limitations on EVERYTHING except murder. I think 12 years is a little late to be collecting a bill. I'm so glad I found this blog, I'm not alone.

You're wrong about the statute of limitations...there is NO statute of limitations on a federal debt...pay your debts, deadbeats!

Anonymous said...

If it's not your debt, all you have to do is be calm and rational with debt collectors. If you explain calmly to them why and how they have the wrong person...they'll stop calling. Believe me...they don't want to chase any dead leads. They have better things to do...

Bottom line, you owe money. There is an awful lot of defensiveness in these blogs for all of you to be innocent people. The government will get their money. Effing pay your student loans...so that people who actually want to get an education don't get this privelege taken away.

Total deadbeats. Everything they do is legal...if it wasn't...don't you think they'd be shut down by now.

Looks like those college educations you didn't pay for aren't serving you much use...

....oh...and for all of you who complain about this economy...this is the EXACT reason our country is in the state it is in...people borrow money they can't pay back.

disgusting. bragging about NOT paying your bills and running from debt collectors in a blog??? awesome.......

Steve Sloan said...

You said, "Bottom line, you owe money."

You have no idea what you are talking about. I do not and never have owed them money. This was somebody else's debt.

It took a huge number of phone calls, including to the district attorney's office, to get them to leave me alone.

Premiere Credit demonstrates a pattern of illegal (banned by the FDCPA) collection activities that are obviously a part of their business model, and operating procedures:

- Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person
in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously
with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the
called number. (Relentless calls (8 - 12 per day))

- the placement of telephone calls without meaningful disclosure of the caller’s identity (spoofing numbers, or no number)

- The use of any false representation or deceptive means
to collect or attempt to collect any debt or to obtain
information concerning a consumer. (the bogus "reference check crap, where they contact your neighbors). They are only allowed to contact 3rd parties to "locate" you. When they call a neighbor, and say they are conducting a reference check for a job it's obviously a "false representation". They already know where you are, if they've been calling you and can determine who your neighbors are.

How about them apples, Chrys??? These schmucks, as a matter of practice, are in constant violation of the FDCPA.

Here's an example of just how stupid a typical Premiere employee is ... after stating to a 3rd party they are conducting a reference check for a job, the cretin asks if the 3rd party knows the person's cell phone number.

People ... log all their illegal activities to, not only support the $1000 payment you will receive from Premiere for each violation, but to demonstrate the overall pattern of how they operate while annoying, abusing and destroying the reputations of their "victims". that is where the big payday is!

Enough is enough.

I am now dealing with them I do owe for a student loan for my daughter. I ran into a little hardship lost my job any way right before xmas they contacted me after i just found another job only had it for three months saying they were about to garnish my checks unless i worked out A DEAL WITH THEM. they said i needed to come up with 681.00 to start and to pay 122.00 a month. for me to sign papers and send them back and we could start a repayment plan for 10 consect months. i got the monies together, leaving my kids without a xmas mind you, got a conformation letter in the mail that my account would be debit for the amount. please tell me why they garnish my check anyway.plus took monies out of my account each month I am paying them 600.00 amonth which is over the 25% max they can gasrnish you for. my mortage is now behind and my electric. when i called to complain they said they needed another signed paper to stop the garnishment this is after taking over 3000.00 dollars from me.something do not smell right

They will never get a dime from me. And to the one who says "pay your bill" You pay it!

I wonder why they hire the handicapped, and illiterate individuals to try to collect money from folk who are educated. Imagine that! And back to the one who says pay your bills, you probably work for the Company!

I paid off my loan in full about
14 years ago. For 5 years I worked a second job at night to do this. They say I have to prove I paid it off?? After 3 moves & a really bad flood I have no proof.
Is any one suing them?? Any info on that? They have no right to yell at elderly, sick family members & scare them.

Anonymous said...

i applied for a job there and i pray i get it. i work for sallie mae and have learned so much about what they FEDERAL GOVERNMENT can do to you if you dont tend to your FEDERAL DEBTS and im glad im not one that ignores a debt hoping it will go away(they can garnish any federal income including taxes). instead of people cursing them out verify yourself and your telephone numbers and specifically say "please mark my number as do not call" that is the ONLY way your numbers will stop being called alot of the things you guys may think are illegal are not i promise you(believe me ive looked it up everywhere) ive even ad lawyers ive had to call and you wouldnt believe what happens to them and doctors if they decide they are being harrassed. if you are getting more than 8 calls a day at 1 number it is considered harrassment BUT a rep can call each # on the acct 8 times a day (once an hour)...like i said before there are alot of things that seem illegal but i guarantee some arent. another thing is you may have 1 lender but it can be broken down into several separate loans so you make sure your payments are being disbursed evenly to cover everything otherwise you'll have 1 loan paid in full and another defaulted and wondering why youre getting calls

Unknown said...

Thanks for all y'alls information! Excluding the jerk who doesn't know what he is talking about...everyone being deadbeats about not paying their bills...to him, do you know what happens when you "assume" - you make and ASS of U and ME - ASSUME and you are probably a deadbeat getting you paycheck garnished for debt you DO OWE and having anger management issues because you CAN'T do anything about YOUR debt. To the others, I followed all of your suggestions, contacted the Department of Education, the police, the State of Louisiana and gave them, calmly and politely the information on what I did and you know what, all of a sudden the "proof I have sitting in front of me that you owe $43,000" is no longer...never had any proof of anything. I applied for an online loan (I am a government employee and this was through a legit bank, my federal credit union)and the police think that might have been how they got my info.

Was harrassed over and over about a student loan. Finally worked out a payment schedule. They never honored the schedule, but they were paid anyway. That was five months ago. The Department of Education is still showing the loan in default and turned over to a collection agency. Numerous phone calls later, I am at a standstill having been given a thousand and one reasons why it is showing the loan as still in default. Have even been told that all has been taken care of at least four different times. Any suggestions?

Mr MiLenkO must work for Premier Credit - loser
I too have been harassed by them. They are asking for someone else not me and they call me a liar saying I am hiding him. I stopped answering their calls and filed complaints with the FTC and the State Attorney General's office. Due to the number of calls they have made to me and now my kids cell phones, I am going to sue them for violating the FDCPA which has a fee of $1000.00 per call. They have called me over 30 times. It must suck to only be qualified to get a job being an ass.

I called the Student Assistance folks to get some help with a complain against PC, and they folks there told me that PC is so shady and difficult to work with they could not help me. Apparently PC has a habit of saying one thing o the phone then printing another thing in the contract. I have a dispute about if my loan should even be in default (screw you these who say 'pay your loans'- some of us have been!), but now that PC has my account they don't care about anything except destroying my life and my family. No one there will listen. now they want 2 phone numbers from my friends to even allow me to set up payments. That’s gotta be illegal.
The student assistance folks suggested that I let the account stay in default until PC gives up and sends my account to someone else. How does someone who stayed on top of the payments, then got the actual deferment, wind up here?

Anonymous said...

I live near their office and some of their employees are a real menace to the neighborhood. About 10 of them disregard the law every day and do crazy stuff like driving around traffic waiting to turn left and then turning left from the right-hand lane. It is as if they are trying to cause traffic accidents. I would like to see them sued out of existence before they seriously hurt someone.

Anonymous said...

Stop paying it...Have them take you to court...They cannot afford to go to court...it eats their bottom line....Where you have been paying in good faith in reliance on a material representation made by PC, they would be hard-pressed to make any argument that you chose to default after the agreement you made. They don't want to go to court anyhow...Judges will force them to honor the terms offered...thats why, even though your the debtor, court works in your favor.

These people are ruthless! I called to change my payment schedule around.. they said i could not and they said they would garnish my wages. I was trying to explain to the Ignorant probably under paid under educated women that I am willing an able to pay my bill just need to pay it a week later. She started to grown and make all this huffing and puffing noise.. then this women i think her name was Shaniqua cause thats what she sounded like. started yelling and hung up on me!!! WTH is that!! who the hell does that. Any ways called and spoke to some one higher then her and got it straighted out.. this shit is a nightmare :(

I took Power of Attorney on my daughters student loan. It was 19,000 but somehow they added in more fees to the tune of 25,000. They want to withdraw the money from my bank acct and I won't let them. I call EVERY month on the 28th to pay. After I pay, every month, I get a harrassing call to see if I plan to pay again. I also get nasty mail from them every month. They said they won't stop until I let them take money from my bank account.

Last week, I called to make my payment and told them to not call me next week to harrass me, and I'd call again to pay July 28th. What did they do? They didn't process my payment. These people are assclowns.
